Adopting a New Friend
Saving just one dog won't change the world but it surely will change the world for that one dog.
Thank you for considering our pets needing homes. We have many wonderful dogs and cats waiting to meet you.

A pet's adoption fee will sometimes be higher due to veterinary costs for illness or injury, or due to the fact that it's a "popular" breed. The higher adoption fees allow us to collect a little more in donations for those left behind at the
shelter. There will also be cases where the normal adoption fee will be lower because the pet has a sponsor, which allows us to adopt the pet out at a lower fee.
Lesley and the Shelter volunteers often know the dogs and cats currently waiting for a new home. They'll be glad to answer any questions you may have and will work hard to match you with a dog or cat which will "fit" with you and your family.
Questions To Ask
- How does the dog/cat get along with other dogs/cats?
- Would the dog/cat be suitable in a home with young children?
- Would this dog need a good deal of exercise?
- If adopting a puppy, do you have the time to housetrain your new puppy?
- Would an older dog be a better choice if I work during the day?
- Is the dog house trained and/or crate trained?
- If the dog requires training, are you prepared to make that commitment?
